• the greatest state sponsor of terrorism in the world - responsible for plotting and perpetuating the horrific maiming and murder of tens of thousands of  innocent men, women and children around the world, including in New York, Washington DC, Buenos Aires, Paris and Burgas. A US federal court in Havlish ruled that Iran provided "direct and material" assistance to the 9/11 hijackers. Iran finances, trains and weaponizes many terrorist proxies around the world including Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas.

• A regime which has waged war against the United States  - uniting  its followers to chants of "death to America"  - recently threatening to turn New York City into "hellish ruins"  - holding innocent Americans hostage - waging cyber attacks on critical businesses and infrastructure - interfering in US  elections -  - recently trying to assassinate former government officials (including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former National Security Advisor John Bolton) and American citizens (including activist Masih Alinejad) on American soil   - and  horrific murdering and maiming  thousands of  US men and women serving in Iraq and  Afghanistan.
